Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Brian S. Jacobson is a 2000 graduate of the University of Miami, cum laude, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Music and Jazz Performance. In 2007, Brian graduated magna cum laude from St. Thomas University School of Law, and was admitted to the Florida Bar that same year. While at St. Thomas, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Public Service Award, the Dean's Merit Scholarship, and book awards in seven different courses. Brian has also served as Judicial Intern for the Honorable Peggy A. Quince, Florida Supreme Court (2006); and Law Clerk to the Honorable David M. Gersten, Third District Court of Appeal (2005). Prior to joining Ver Ploeg & Lumpkin, P.A., Brian worked at an insurance defense firm, focusing his practice primarily on litigation support and the defense of malpractice and professional liability cases. He is now principally involved in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, in addition to assisting in various appellate matters.
