Jordan S. Kosches concentrates his trial and appellate practice in the areas of insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, and health care litigation. Born in Queens, New York, Jordan received his B.S. in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York College at Brockport in 2004, and his J.D. from Quinnipiac University in 2007. While in law school he received his Mediation Certificate from the University of Connecticut, and interned as a Mediator with the Family Services division of the Connecticut Superior Court.
Prior to joining Ver Ploeg & Lumpkin, Jordan practiced in the commercial litigation and appellate practice departments of a national law firm where he represented insurance carriers, banks, and Fortune 500 companies both at trial and on appeal. He has represented clients throughout Florida's trial courts, as well as in all five of Florida's District Courts of Appeal, the Third and Eleventh U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court, and the United States Supreme Court. Jordan is a member of the American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section, the Florida Bar's Appellate Practice and Trial Lawyers Sections, the Miami-Dade County Bar Appellate Practice Section, and in 2010 was part of an appellate team nominated for the Most Effective Appellate Lawyer of the Year award for having reversed the largest compensatory damage verdict in Florida’s history against a single asbestos manufacturer.
Jordan is admitted to practice in Florida and Connecticut, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the Third and Eleventh U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal.
