Michael F. Huber, born in 1952 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Indiana University and his J.D. (magna cum laude) from the University of Miami School of Law. At UM, he was Editor-in-Chief of The University of Miami Law Review, a Dean's Fellow, Order of the Coif, and a member of the Society of Bar and Gavel, which is the highest honor awarded at the law school. While in law school, Mr. Huber worked as an intern for the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office and for the Honorable Ursula M. Ungaro, United States District Judge, Southern District of Florida. Mr. Huber, a former editor, writer, and university professor, is co-author of the college textbook Words Into Flesh: How to Think Like a Writer (McGraw-Hill, 1997). A diplomate of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, Mr. Huber concentrates his practice in the area of insurance litigation and appeals. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Florida, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit. His pro bono work includes writing appellate briefs for the nonprofit consumer-rights organization United Policyholders, and serving as attorney ad litem for foster children through the Lawyers for Children America project.
